Tell me about yourself is mostly the very first question at the time of interview. This question is being asked not only to Freshers but to Professionals of almost all levels and functional areas.

Question looks to be very simple but many candidates fumble to effectively answer this question, and fail to make an impact.
Proper answer to this question is very important as it creates the very first impression about yourself and remaining part of the interview depends on your reply to this question.



It has been observed that many candidates who could not answer this question properly were not given a chance to answer any other question and were instantly rejected.

Preparation to answer this question well in advance is definitely required as it sets the tone of rest of the interview. I will give you some of the tips to answer this question

- Start with your personal details but quickly switch over and talk about your academic qualifications, experience and professional skills.

- Highlight your major achievements and accomplishments.

- While answering this question, keep in mind about the job, its description and the company

- Research about the company and Interviewers and relate your profile and Interest Area accordingly. You can very easily search for the company and interviewers by giving the search command in Google and Linkedin Website.

- Highlight only those points you are absolutely sure about and comfortable answering. For example, talk about your research topic which you know in and out.

- Be confident and show interest and do make an eye contact with the panelist while answering the questions

- Talk about your extra-ordinary efforts, additional courses, unique qualities, challenges etc. so that you are able to generate the curiosity and interest among the interviewers

- Keep your answer short.  Your answer to this question ‘tell me about yourself’ should not be more than 2 minutes.

·       Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
